Dr. (Med) Paa Kwesi Baidoo - KATH CEO

Dr. (Med) Paa Kwesi Baidoo is the Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), appointed in May 2025 following his nomination by the President of the Republic of Ghana and subsequent approval by the hospital’s Board. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Head of the Directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics at KATH and as the Ashanti Divisional Chairman of the Ghana Medical Association. He is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with nearly two decades of experience in clinical practice, surgery, leadership, academics, and healthcare administration.
An alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Baidoo obtained his MBChB degree in 2005 and later pursued specialist training in general surgery and orthopedics through both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) and the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), becoming a fellow of both institutions. He is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Department of Surgery, School of Medical Sciences, KNUST.
Dr. Baidoo has received extensive international training in pediatric orthopedics, limb reconstruction, sports medicine, and trauma care at renowned institutions in the United States. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Buckle Fellowship by the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society, becoming one of only three global recipients of the Pediatric Travel Fellowship that year. His professional expertise and global exposure have positioned him as a respected figure in orthopedic trauma care and medical leadership.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Baidoo is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 17 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at several international conferences. He serves on various professional committees and contributes to medical education, research, and capacity building across Africa. His dedication to excellence, innovation, and healthcare development continues to inspire progress within Ghana’s medical community and beyond.
