Prof. Peter Donkor
President

Professor Peter Donkor is a Full Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi. He is the President of the Ghana Cleft Foundation, Past President of multiple organizations including the West African College of Surgeons, African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth), Pan African Association for Cleft Lip and Palate, and the Ghana Surgical Research Society.

Professor Donkor is the Founding Director of the Office of Grants and Research at KNUST and has previously served in several key leadership roles, including Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST; Provost, College of Health Sciences; Vice-Dean, School of Medical Sciences; and Head, Department of Surgery.

His leadership roles include service on several national and international Councils and Boards of public and private institutions, including the Global Medical Advisory Board of Smile Train. He is a co-founder of the specialist Cleft/Craniofacial and Head & Neck Oncology Clinics at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Professor Donkor has collaborated extensively with both local and international partners, with research interests spanning cleft lip and palate, global health, medical education, head and neck cancer, injury control, and research management.
